What does music mean to you? How does music affect your life?
To a 5-year-old, the first time he understood what music truly stands for was watching a band performing in a mall. Music is happiness.
When he turned 18, he was into rock ‘n’ roll, and decided to put everything he had into making indie rock. Music inspired him to "do something different" and led him to a path less traveled.
The Dream

His music career came to an end due to the lack of support and other factors. He became a product designer, and built PITAKA, a brand driven by innovation to provide alternative gadgets in helping and inspiring people to live a simple, quality life.
At the same time, he never gives up on music, a passion he truly upholds. He still plays rock and listens to symphonies, for relaxation and finding inspirations. Music has, and always been a part of his life, no matter what he does.
One day, an idea struck his mind:
“why not infuse music

PITAKA is known to many for making aramid fiber phone cases. The unique material, also PITAKA's signature, is what made the brand stand out from the crowd. That is why we started experimenting with new techniques on the iPhone 13 series cases.
James led the team in tons of research, and even visited some craftsmen to understand and study the concept behind fabrics weaving. Eventually, we found this new technique to weave aramid fiber in our cases.

Common weave styles, like plain and twill, only involve one weaving sequence, so the designs are limited. Fusion Weaving, on the other hand, allows us to have intricate designs. But it is not without challenges. Fusion Weaving involves:

After numerous attempts, we managed to blend two or more weaving styles onto one loom, which is the reason why Fusion Weaving cases appear to be much more beautiful, with stronger three-dimensional effects and better grip.
Music Inspired
Cases
Be intrigued by the aramid fiber strands of various colors dancing on the loom. It reminds us of the string family, the guitar, harp, and violin. The dots and lines on the Fusion Weaving cases look similar to the notes on a stave - both compose a beautiful symphony.
